We care for every child who walks through our doors, and we want this website to welcome every visitor the same way.
SmileWorks Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance for this website. If anything here is hard for you to use, tell us at (850) 765-3748 or office@smileworkstally.com and we will fix it or provide the information another way.
How we verify it
This isn't aspirational language — every page of this site has been through automated checks (Lighthouse accessibility audits score 100 sitewide) plus a manual audit completed on July 16, 2026, re-verified July 21, 2026 as new pages shipped, covering:
- Keyboard-only testing: every link, button, form field, menu, and accordion on every key page is reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with no traps; a "Skip to content" link is the first element on every page
- A two-layer focus indicator (white ring plus dark halo) that stays visible on light, dark, and colored backgrounds alike
- Screen-reader semantics verified in the accessibility tree: one h1 per page with no skipped heading levels, accordions that announce expanded/collapsed, a mobile menu that announces open/closed, form errors announced as alerts, and decorative artwork hidden from assistive technology while meaningful images carry descriptive alt text
- Motion respect: all animation — scrolling marquees, reveal effects, and background video — is disabled when your device requests reduced motion, and the homepage background video has a pause button and no audio track
- Color pairings contrast-checked against WCAG AA; touch targets on small screens meet a 40px minimum; the site works at 200% zoom and on screens from 320px wide
Known limitations
Online booking, bill payment, and membership signup are provided by third parties (PatientReach, Moolah, and Kleer) whose pages we don't control; if you have difficulty with them, call us and we'll schedule you directly. Automated and in-house manual testing cannot fully substitute for testing by daily assistive-technology users — if our testing missed something you ran into, we want to know.
