For some adult cases, fixed appliances can provide advantages in control, predictability, or convenience because there is nothing to remember to put back in after meals.

Is there an age limit for braces or aligners?

There is no arbitrary upper age limit for orthodontic treatment. What matters is the health of the teeth, gums, and supporting bone, along with the specific movements that are planned.

Adults with active periodontal disease or significant restorative needs may need coordination with their general dentist or another specialist before or during orthodontic treatment.
